IDEA represents an innovative approach to adult education for Persons with Disabilities (PWDS), moving from traditional assistance-based models to empowering PWDs as active contributors in creative and entrepreneurial sectors.
By combining FabLabs and adult education organizations, the project aims to provide a space for PWDs to develop both digital and soft skills, preparing them for real-world job opportunities and social inclusion. This model, tested and refined across multiple EU countries, aims to serve as a replicable model for inclusive education and social integration for PWDs.
The overall goal of IDEA is to enhance the empowerment and social inclusion of adults with physical disabilities by providing educational opportunities that focus on developing creativity and acquiring digital and entrepreneurial skills and competencies.
Objectives
SO1: to improve adult educators' skills and knowledge in working with PWD through creative, digital-oriented educational paths. SO2: to promote the acquisition of creative, digital, design, and entrepreneurial skills for PWD, improving their personal and professional abilities, and enhancing their social inclusion. SO3: to elaborate a replicable European model based on the definition of a competence framework necessary for people with disabilities in order to act as digital makers
Results
● IDEA Toolkit for educators: A comprehensive toolkit to help adult educators integrate creative and digital methodologies for teaching PWDs, enabling them to acquire essential skills.
● IDEA Prototypes catalogue: A collection of entrepreneurial prototypes created by PWDs during the piloting phase.
● IDEA Competence framework: A framework defining the digital, creative, and entrepreneurial competencies required for PWDs, based on European models like DigComp 2.2, LifeComp, and EntreComp.
