The Hi-Ability project aims to "open the doors to new spaces of education", promoting an education for autonomy, for independent and inclusive living for adults with intellectual disabilities (ID), in a context that is still not very accessible such as that of hiking and environmental tourism, in which it is possible to cancel differences and highlight the professional skills of everyone. Hi-Ability places the natural environment at the center of the activities, becoming the theater of an original methodological approach of a therapeutic-rehabilitative program based on the socio-educational value of the natural environment. The adults with ID who will participate in the experiment will acquire personal, transversal and technical skills and abilities, will improve their possibilities for social integration, empowerment and their psycho-physical well-being, will improve their employment opportunities, will increase the possibilities of participating in outdoor activities also through digital tools.
